Our married and engaged couples’ ministry name is centered around the theme “Keep the marriage hot!”. We strongly believe in the importance of healthy communication in a marriage. Sixty percent of marriages in the United States end up in divorce, so it is vital to learn how to be a husband and wife according to God’s word. God created the holy union of marriage and He intended it to be a certain way.
Husbands are meant to love their wives as Christ loves the church. In Ephesians 5:25 it says that Jesus loved the church so much that “He gave himself for it”. In the Bible, it also says for husbands to “love your wives, and be not bitter against them” (Colossians 3:19) and to give “honor unto the wife” (1 Peter 3:7). Wives are to submit to the authority God has given their husbands as the head of the family (Ephesians 5:23-24). Married couples need to hear and apply the word of God to their lives to keep this healthy and holy balance in their relationships.
